So George S. sent me this link to Peppermint Designs' Etsy store, and I am soooo tempted to hit that little "add to cart" button, despite never really using clutch purses, like, ever.
But it's dictionary-themed! How cool is that?

You can make one. Those clasps are available and you can print fabric with your favorite dictionary entries…. it will be custom-sized and custom purposed. Or use the scrap of something you loved – like wearing your favorite fabric every day, which is a bit like perfect. Go on. Try it.

this clutch is cute..u could b out @ the bar with your girls and some guys will b hitting on you..you tell them to get lost politely..they don’t get it..repeatedly..so you can ask them if they don’t understand would they like to look up the meaning of “annoying” or “no thank you” or “goodbye”…or if you prefer use a thesaurus print and offer them alternitive words to “creepy” or “personal space”!!!

It has a chain, so more practical than a plain clutch, which, while lovely, is hard to hang onto.

sweetwater for moda had a dictionary print as part of their Au.then.tic range (possibly got the periods in the wrong place there).
You can get metal frames for bags with holes to attach a strap, so might be the better way to go.
and I agree that you could spoonflower your own dictionary print.
Then finding someone to do it for you, (if you don’t have time! not that you can’t) wouldn’t be too hard.

Why would someone need to be talked out of that? Huh? (Unless you have time to make your own and really wouldn’t that time be better spent doing… almost anything else? Like, making dresses? Or reading books? Of course it would.)

I seem to recall you usually just use your pockets rather than a bag. If you had a big bag (like the kind I use to carry diapers and sippy cups and Star Wars action figures) you could use this as a bit of personal space inside the larger bag. I do that a lot. Now I think this needs to go on my elfster wishlist. Thanks, Erin!

Absolutely adorable! I’m not helping either! Convo the shop’s owner, and ask if they can make one custom for you with a chain strap so you can use it hands free! Or as previously suggested, use it in a bigger bag. I have small bags like this, one for my mp3 player and headphones. I’d probably use this, or one like it, to corral the loose change that collects in the bottom of the bag. Instead of just throwing it into the depths of my bag, I could slip it all into an adorable little clutch like this one and empty it out into a coin bank every now and then.

I have to admit that kisslock purses are not too difficult to sew as such, only a little fiddly at first (I’m a designer maker and teach a purse workshop too).
They can be used as clutch bags or as organisers in larger bags, to carry all sorts of small essentials and bits and bobs. They also make well-received presents!
