But always a crossword dress! Thanks to Sarah Dyer (aka @colorkitten) for pointing out to me that there’s a new crossword novelty print quilting fabric out there, in multiple colorways.
I was really tempted by the aqua, but I went for a more classic (if not more subtle) look:
Right now I’m thinking that a) this will be another 9929, because they’re SO EASY and b) this means I should really go back to the ACPT next year, huh? It’s been a while since I showed up in a crossword–puzzle dress, ready to place far, far down in the standings.
I love your stunt dresses! Can’t wait to see this one when it’s finished!

love the fabric. have you ever wanted to devise a clever message in the squares – like an acrostic of your name and leave some squares blank. use embroidery floss or fabric paint pens.
(just ignore me, I’m on my own planet. I want to use it to cover my kid’s school books and fill in the title in the squares.)

Hi Erin,
I confess, I looked b/c of assumptions of what it could be…
(a) George Clooney or the Fantastic Mr. Fox
(b) I thought it would make you look foxy….
(c) I was so taken with You Don’t Have To Be Pretty
but I like this very much.
