You won't have to follow a trail of crumbs to get your own wacked-out Hansel and Gretel Lanz of Salzburg dress, like, say, THIS ONE:
Here's a closeup of the Hansel-y, Gretel-y part:
You can find this dress on eBay, if you want to commemorate child-endangerment and near-cannibalism. Have fun!
I like it…it’s a maxi dress that will actually foster meaningful conversation instead of just “Where did you get that?” and “You paid what???” Yeah, much more meaningful.

I love it- especially how the stripes turn out to be really big, tall scary trees! I suppose you could hide a lot of children under that thing too…

I think it is a great dress, too! The wide stripes turned trees, the vintage-y illustrations. Plus it looks cool comfortable and is fairly modestly cut. It’s a winner!

I dunno…I see those stripes and that printed hem, and all I can think of are my great-grandmother’s awesome 1940s dishtowels. [sigh]

Truly, I cannot imagine anyone I knew or ever was even around wearing this dress. Maybe, and only maybe, it would have been used during very private lounging time – like on a hot summer night after a shower.

My mom used to wear Lanz nightgowns as party dresses in the 60’s and 70’s. Like this one:

Some girls did that with the original Laura Ashley slips, petticoats and nightdresses, too.
