If you like this sort of thing, this is the sort of thing you like

Mina's dress from the movie Bram Stoker's Dracula. Click on the picture to go to the site where you can order a custom reproduction gown from a movie. Examples on the site include Somewhere in Time, Ever After, Titanic, and (of course) Star Wars. (Amidala, not the Leia Slave Girl Costume. If you want that, go here. Not quite sure that last link is SFW. Or actually a dress, but hey.)

The Mina-dress maker says she's happy to work with you to get you what you want, even if you don't see your favorite movie on her site. So perhaps my fantasy of having all the Doris Day outfits from That Touch of Mink can become reality, after all …

  1. You posted this just for me, didn’t you?Someday, some fine day, I will own that dress. I’ve been longing for it since the movie was released, dammit.

  2. Ah, That Touch of Mink! The ne plus ultra of the cocktail movie.Years ago, when there was still such a thing as revivial movie houses, my friends and I would try to think up themed film festivals. My favorite was movies containing fashion shows — Roberta, The Women, Singing in the Rain, and, of course, That Touch of Mink.I did get a little TTofM wish fulfillment when my mother had made for me a raincoat lined with the remnants of a very old fur coat of my grandmother’s.

  3. Jilli, did you see the white and black striped one on her site? That one I WAS going to post just for you!::whimpers::No, no I didn’t. Oh. Oh dear. The Sleepy Hollow dress that I’ve been coveting for ages and ages.::sigh::Step 1: become independantly wealthy.Step 2: have red Dracula dress and stripey Sleepy Hollow dress made for meeeeee!
